Our Rescue Blend Guinea Pig Chaff is carefully handmade at our rescue using only the highest quality ingredients available. We use premium-grade fresh chaff, combined with a carefully balanced amount of quality pellets and healthy treats to create a blend specifically designed for guinea pigs. Unlike most store-bought chaff products that are not formulated with guinea pig health and nutrition in mind, our blend is created by people who live and work with guinea pigs every single day. We believe guinea pigs deserve better than generic feed, which is why we only use ingredients we would confidently feed to our own rescue pigs.

Warning:

Our adult guinea pig food blend is completely lucerne (alfalfa) free, as diets high in lucerne are widely considered unsuitable for guinea pigs over 12 months of age. Lucerne is naturally very high in calcium, and prolonged consumption may contribute to the development of bladder stones — a painful and potentially life-threatening condition if left untreated.

Unlike many commercial mixes sold through pet shops and produce stores, our blend is specifically formulated with guinea pig health in mind. Many store-bought products rely heavily on lucerne and often contain seeds, artificially coloured or flavoured “fruit and vegetable pieces,” and other unnecessary additives that are not considered beneficial for guinea pigs. At Arena Pigs, we believe nutrition should be simple, natural, and designed specifically for the long-term health and wellbeing of guinea pigs.
